For students aspiring to pursue further studies, postgraduate recommendation, commonly known in Chinese as Baoyan, is an important milestone in their academic journey. To answer questions and offer practical guidance, the Liaison and Training Department of the Student Union of the School of Foreign Languages and Cultures held the 2025 Graduate Recommendation Experience Sharing Session at 6:30 p.m. on October 20 in the Sixth Lecture Hall of the Yifu Building. The event drew many students eager to pursue graduate studies and offered them the opportunity to hear four outstanding senior students share their experience and advice.

01 Guo Congyi, English Department (Class of 2022)

Guo Congyi opened the session by sharing her experience in setting goals and positioning herself for postgraduate recommendation. She introduced the recommendation process, early-stage preparation, and common challenges students may encounter, providing participants with clear and practical guidance.

02 Ma Yuepeng, Japanese Department (Class of 2022)

Ma Yuepeng focused on interview strategies and mindset adjustment during the recommendation process. Drawing on her personal experience, she encouraged students to actively publish academic papers during their undergraduate years and offered thoughtful advice on university selection. She emphasized the importance of making steady progress while remaining flexible and responsive to changing circumstances.

03 Meng Yixuan, Korean Department (Class of 2022)

Meng Yixuan shared her experience around goal-setting, preparation, and personal growth throughout the recommendation process. Speaking about her passion for language learning and the perseverance she developed while carrying out her plans, she encouraged students to stay committed to their goals, maintain a steady mindset, and move forward step by step.

04 Gao Zhuqiuhong, Korean Department (Class of 2022)

As a student who received postgraduate recommendation across disciplines, Gao Zhuqiuhong shared his understanding of law as a field of study and his experience preparing for interdisciplinary applications. He gave a detailed account of the application and assessment procedures for interdisciplinary postgraduate recommendation, offering useful reference for students interested in law.

Marked by both opportunities and challenges, the path to postgraduate recommendation requires academic preparation as well as resilience and composure. The session offered valuable experience and practical advice to students preparing for this journey, while also strengthening their confidence and motivation.
