Speaker Biography

Ba Dianjun is a Distinguished Professor of the Kuang Yaming Scholars Program at Jilin University, a Category B National Leading Talent of Jilin Province, and a Research Fellow at a National High-end Think Tank. He serves as Deputy Director of the Northeast Asian Studies Center, Director of the Institute of International Politics, Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at Jilin University.

His research focuses on Northeast Asian regional politics and security issues, including China-Japan relations, the Korean Peninsula issue, and the Taiwan question. He has undertaken academic research visits to the United States, Japan, the DPRK, the ROK, Mongolia, Russia and other relevant countries. He has published nearly 100 academic papers and advisory reports, many of which have received written comments from national leaders.

He previously worked as Visiting Professor at the University of Toyama and Kwansei Gakuin University in Japan. Currently, he holds multiple academic posts including Standing Director of the Chinese Association for Japanese Studies, Vice President and Director of Jilin Provincial Association for Korean Peninsula Studies, Academic Committee Member and Research Fellow of the Taiwan Research Center at Xiamen University, and Visiting Professor of the China Special Economic Zone Research Center at Shenzhen University.
