Speaker Biography

Chen Xiuwu is Professor, Director, and Doctoral Supervisor at the Institute of Japanese Studies, Northeast Normal University. He serves as Standing Director of the Chinese Association for Japanese Studies and Standing Director of the Chinese Society for Japanese History. His main research interests include Japanese society and culture, the history of Japanese ideology and culture, the history of Japanese political thought, and the history of the maritime East Asian. He is also a Member of the Eighth Discipline Appraisal Group for Foreign Languages and Literatures under the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council.
