About the Speaker:


Fan Ye teaches in the Department of Spanish Language and Literature at Peking University, where he also supervises doctoral students. He is an invited visiting scholar at the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences, Peking University, and serves as President of the Spanish and Portuguese Literature Studies Branch of the Chinese Society of Foreign Literature.


He has translated more than ten works of Spanish-language literature, including One Hundred Years of Solitude, To the Future Poet, and Testing the Night. He is also the author of The Slowness of the Poet, a collection of reading notes.
