About the Speaker:

Lu Jingsheng is Professor of Spanish and doctoral supervisor at Shanghai International Studies University (SISU). He is a Foreign Corresponding Academician of the Royal Spanish Academy (Real Academia Española), and Editor-in-Chief of the national-level textbook series Undergraduate Spanish Textbook Series for Higher Education Institutions.

He previously served as Chair of the Department of Western Languages at SISU (19952014), Vice Chair of the National Advisory Committee on Foreign Language Teaching in Higher Education under the Ministry of Education and Chair of its Spanish Sub-committee (1997–2018), and President of the Asian Association of Hispanists (2010–2013).

He has received various domestic and international honors, including the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Civil Merit for Cultural Achievement conferred by the King of Spain.
